Thursday, 03 March 2011 10:07

Miss Outstanding Teen will debut a new program in August.

You don't have to be a state titleholder to experience the benefits of the MAOTeen's national competition.  The Miss America's Outstanding Teen organization will debut its new program, Teens in Training Camp, at the national pageant in Orlando, Florida from August 16-21, 2011.  This program is open to girls, ages 13 to 17, who are interested in competing in teen pageants or who are looking to improve upon skills that promote self-confidence and poise. For more information visit www.teensintrainingcamp.com

"Personally, as I move from a teen to an adult, I realize just how much I benefitted from the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization and how so many of the opportunities I was given were a result of my participation in MAOTeen.  Now, I am thrilled to be giving other girls the chance to experience some of the same life-changing opportunities that I did," says Tawni Darby, Miss Pennsylvania's Outstanding Teen 2006 and the TNT Camp Founder.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend professional workshops in interview, on-camera and on-stage performance, makeup, style, walking and public relations, all taught by leaders in their fields!  They'll get a behind-the-scenes tour of MAOTeen, participate in an exclusive photo session with the MAOTeen photographers and take the stage at the national competition.

Kim Parrish, President of the Miss America's Outstanding Teen organization, says that the camp will be a wonderful learning and mentoring opportunity for teens.  "Our goal is to provide a strong foundation for girls to gain information on skills such as interview, poise, presentation, networking and public relations which will not only help them become the best contestant they can possibly be but also guide them throughout their lives," says Parrish.

Tawni Darby, a former Miss Pennsylvania's Outstanding Teen, is spearheading the event.  Leaders from around the country will provide the workshops.  The cost of participation in the 4-day event is $1000.  (A discount for Pageant Talk Radio fans is offered below) Each participant will also receive tickets to each night of the pageant.  For more information check out the Miss America's Outstanding Teen website or go to www.TeensInTrainingCamp.com.
