On Wednesday, August 17, 2011, two contestants in the Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant received preliminary awards.

Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen Elizabeth Fechtel received the Evening Wear preliminary award.

Miss Alabama's Outstanding Teen Mi'a Callens received the Talent preliminary award for her vocal/piano performance.
