Newly crowned Miss Northern West Virginia's Outstanding Teen Krystian Leonard will be a part of the Contagious Optimism book two, slated for publication in spring 2014. Her essay, detailing her personal story that inspired the publication of Shining Scars and her journey through pageantry, will be included in the project. Krystian was chosen as one of the twelve who will speak at the Tedx Live event in Florida, in December. She will also attend the Contagious Optimism event as one of twenty speakers chosen to travel to Florida in April.
Krystian was recently interviewed on the radio during Kathryn the Grape's Magical Hour, a show dedicated to helping children love themselves as they are through nurturing and confidence-boosting books and songs.
"God has really picked me up and showed me there is much to do for Shining Scars!" Krystian said.
At upcoming appearances, Krystian will promote her platform and donate her book to Children's Miracle Network hospitals. "So much hard work from this past year is really beginning to pay off," she said.
