Miss Hawaii Director was 'Man Behind the Crown'
Thomas "Thom" J. McGarvey Jr., for three decades the executive director of the Miss Hawaii Pageant, died January 8 at the Craigside Assisted Living Facility in Nuuanu. He was 70.
