This morning, our reigning Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2011 Lacey Russ took some time to sign autographs at our tradeshow booth. I also had a few moments to chat with her about her year of service and her advice to the next MAOTeen.
Oh my gosh, you guys! Am I ever having a good time here in Orlando! There is so much going on. Teens in Training and Princess Camp have both gotten off to a great start. Jennifer and I will be speaking to the Teens in Training this Friday, and I am so excited! Tawni has done a really great job with this program.
This morning, the Princesses rehearsed their production number for the first time and from what I can tell, they did a great job! Speaking of princesses, I finally met OUR National Princess Emily Kinsey. It was great to meet Emily and her mother Stephanie, and we are proud to have Emily as our fourpoints princess. I shot a little video so you can meet Emily, too!
The prelims were great last night, too! There was a tie in evening wear which may be an MAOTeen first. I am looking forward to seeing more of the competition tongiht and catching up with the rest of my pageant family!
Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization welcomes 16 teens to the inaugural Teens In Training Camp 2011. Teens In Training Camp is designed for girls, ages 13 to 17, who are interested in competing in the MAOTeen pageant system or who are looking to improve upon skills that promote self-confidence and poise. Participants will have the opportunity to attend professional workshops in interview, on-camera and on-stage performance, makeup, style, walking and public relations all taught by leaders in their fields! Get a behind-the-scenes tour of MAOTeen, participate in an exclusive photo session with the MAOTeen photographers and take the stage at the national competition during the week of August 16 - 20, 2011 in Orlando, Florida.
"Having competed in the MAOTeen system, I know how exciting and beneficial it is being a part of national competition week. I am so excited to meet all the girls participating in Teens in Training Camp and to see how much they enjoy their MAOTeen experience," says Teens in Training Camp founder and Miss Pennsylvania's Outstanding Teen 2006 Tawni Darby. "I am very confident that the girls will leave Orlando with tons of experience, newfound confidence, and many incredible memories!"
