Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan will celebrate the nation’s birthday at the Wawa Welcome America! festivities in Philadelphia this weekend.  "Welcome America!" is Philadelphia's 4th of July celebration showcasing all that America's birthplace has to offer.

Tomorrow morning, Teresa will participate in various interviews with Philadelphia media. In the afternoon, Teresa will enjoy the Block Party in Philadelphia's Chinatown, where she will have the opportunity to meet with Mayor Michael Nutter and other city officials. She will then be performing in concert at the Riverfront in Camden, NJ with the Air National Band of the Mid Atlantic. After this, she will travel across the Delaware River to Penns Landing in Philadelphia for the U.S. Army Band's performance and a spectacular fireworks finale.

On Independence Day, Teresa will participate in the Celebration of Freedom Ceremony by performing "God Bless America". She will then proceed to the 4th of July Parade where she will ride on the “Salute to the Armed Forces” float. The festivities culminate with a live interview at 7 p.m. ET* on 6ABC in Philadelphia with Miss America.
