The 93rd National Convention of the American Legion had an extraordinary convention in Minneapolis, MN this week that was topped off by a list of very special guest speakers that included President Barack Obama and Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan.
Teresa addressed the crowd yesterday morning, immediately preceding The Commander in Chief, President Barack Obama who spoke to the largest gathering of veterans and families in the country. Scheduled appearances were also planned for Senator Al Franken, Representative Nancy Pelosi, and other notable ranking officials. Lieutenant General Jack Stultz, addressed the crowd, along with The Honorable Eric K. Shinseki, retired U.S. Army General and Secretary of Veterans Affairs and Rear Admiral Garry Bonelli, Deputy Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command.
Teresa participated in the National Commander’s Visitation Dinner last night where she met Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger, inspiration for the movie, Rudy and had the honor of meeting our distinguished veterans.
