For the second time this year, Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan traveled abroad with her official wardrobe sponsor, Joseph Ribkoff Inc, as their official fashion correspondent. Teresa had the incredible opportunity to tour Madrid, Spain, where she witnessed firsthand emerging new couture fashions, both on and off the runway and she enjoyed being a part of the extravagant fashion shows!
Teresa’s first stop was a tour of Ribkoff’s Madrid showroom, where she began her international media tour with local fashion magazines such as Yo Dona, GQ, Tiempo and was filmed for EFE, Spanish news agency. These interviews were featured on many Latin American stations around the world.
Next, she went to the US Ambassador's mansion where she visited with Ambassador Alan Soloment, his wife and staff who were delighted to have Miss America visit their beautiful home and country. Then, on Friday, Teresa went to designer Roberto Verino’s fashion show and walked the red carpet. Teresa enjoyed a front row seat with many local celebrities and met Verino following the event.
The weekend was topped off at the Yo Dona magazine party where Teresa was invited to once again walk the red carpet. The media was very interested and eager to photograph Miss America in the city of Madrid. The trip was an incredible opportunity for Miss America to meet with the fashion industry and continue to have Miss America represented in the international spotlight while promoting the Miss America Organization.
