The Torch Relay for the Children's Miracle Network is a cross-country, multi-day event where participants walk, run or cycle at events to raise funds for their local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Funds raised during the Orlando Torch Relay benefit Arnold Palmer Medical Center and Shands Children's Hospital at University of Florida. The Relay, which began in 2002 and today includes 28 cities, kicked off in Chicago, Illinois on October 8th and concluded this past Saturday in Orlando, Florida. The goal was to raise $1.5 million for CMN. In the past 10 years, the relay has raised more than $7 million for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
