As they gear up for the 2011 Miss America Pageant presented by DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse on ABC Saturday, Jan. 15, the 53 contestants armed with forks and spatulas and donning aprons and their state sashes, gathered in Las Vegas for a pancake breakfast in honor of Children’s Miracle Network. Celebrating Elvis’ birthday and Miss America's 90th birthday, the contestants created a pancake birthday cake dressed with peanut butter and bananas and sang “Happy Birthday” to the “King of Rock and Roll.” IHOP’s sixth National Pancake Day celebration benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is set to take place March 1, 2011, when over 1,500 IHOP restaurants nationwide will offer guests a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities. With a goal to raise $2.35 million, to bring the total to about $7.5 million raised in six years, funds will benefit children’s hospitals throughout the U.S
