The contestants of the Miss Alaska went green this past year. For the opening number the contestants made an accessory to their outfit that was environmentally correct. Their intros also included a tidbit about the environment. Volunteer, Cindy Anderson came up with the idea to create a Miss Alaska sign made from soda cans. She involved our contestants by having them save their cans. She collected 750 cans and made the sign pictured.
