The second part of Nina's multicity celebration continued in her hometown of Syracuse, with the first stop at Golisano Children's Hospital. Miss America is the National Ambassador for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, and everyone was especially excited to congratulate Nina as she previously worked with the hospital as a local and state titleholder. Miss America visited with the young patients and helped them make their very own crowns and sashes.
On Saturday afternoon, Nina made a public appearance with Miss California Crystal Lee, Miss Oklahoma Kelsey Griswold, Miss Florida Myrrhanda Jones, Miss Minnesota Rebecca Yeh, Miss Virginia Desiree Williams, Miss Arkansas Amy Crain, Miss Illinois Brittany Smith, Miss New York Amanda Mason, Miss New York's Outstanding Teen Krystal Prehoda, and Miss America's Outstanding Teen Leah Sykes at Destiny USA Mall, where hundreds of people waited in line to meet them. The evening was followed by a lovely Bollywood-themed reception.
The three-day celebration was highlighted Sunday by Miss America's Homecoming Live on Stage at the Landmark Theater in Syracuse. The event, hosted by Jennifer Sanders, anchor and reporter for News Channel 9, featured performances by Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri and other talented state titleholders.
Concluding the homecoming weekend was a wonderful breakfast event at the top of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, hosted by Farah Jadran and Syracuse Woman Magazine in honor of Miss America.
The Miss America Organization extends a sincere thanks and appreciation to the Miss New York Scholarship Organization for all of the wonderful efforts in creating the homecoming celebration. Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri and the Miss America Organization are proud to congratulate the Miss New York Scholarship Organization on a memorable and historic celebration.
